Cipressi di San Quirico d'Orcia

Two distinct clusters of cypress trees stand on rounded hilltops at 261 meters elevation, forming a diamond-shaped woodland and a semicircular arrangement along a dirt road.

The cypress trees were introduced to Tuscany from Asia Minor several centuries before Christ, becoming integral elements of the regional agricultural landscape.

The cypress groups reflect traditional Tuscan hunting practices, as these small woods were established to attract birds in designated hunting areas.

Located along the SS Cassia road in northern San Quirico d'Orcia, these cypress groves offer visitors clear views across both the Val d'Orcia and Ombrone valleys.

The trees comprise two separate formations: one creates a dense rhomboid-shaped grove while the other forms two distinct semicircles around a rural path.
