Himi, Coastal port city in Toyama Prefecture, Japan

The city stretches along Toyama Bay with views of the Tateyama Mountain Range and covers 230 square kilometers of land with numerous fishing ports.

The region was part of Etchu Province before becoming a town in 1889, later achieving city status in 1952 through mergers with surrounding villages.

The Himi City Shiokaze Gallery exhibits works of manga artist Fujiko FujioⒶ, featuring original drawings from series like The Monster Kid and Ninja Hattori-kun.

Visitors can reach Himi by train from Kanazawa in 80 minutes, with rental bicycles available at the station for 500 yen per day.

The winter season brings Himi Kanburi, a premium grade yellowtail fish caught in the local waters of Toyama Bay using traditional fishing methods.
