Urasoe, Administrative division in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan

Urasoe stretches across 19 square kilometers between Naha and Ginowan, featuring residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and educational institutions near the East China Sea.

The city functioned as the capital of the Okinawan kingdom of Chuzan until the late 14th century, with King Shunten establishing his rule from Urasoe Castle.

Seventy-two designated cultural properties, including Ryukyu lacquerware items and traditional crafts, represent the regional heritage within the city boundaries.

The city connects to major transportation networks through the Okinawa Expressway and three stations of the Okinawa Urban Monorail, providing access to Naha Airport.
