Chikushino

The central area of Chikushino spans across 87.73 square kilometers in Fukuoka Prefecture, with mountains of the Sefuri Range near the Saga Prefecture border point.

During the Edo period, Chikushino belonged to Fukuoka Domain, later transforming from separate villages into a unified town in 1955 before gaining city status in 1972.

The Futsukaichi Onsen district maintains traditional Japanese bathing practices through facilities like the Gozen-yu public bath, which continues to serve local residents and visitors.
