Ino, Town in Agawa District, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan

Ino encompasses 470 square kilometers of terrain in the Shikoku Mountains, featuring a humid subtropical climate with annual rainfall exceeding 3,000 millimeters.

The village of Ino gained municipal status in 1889 following the Meiji restoration, later expanding through mergers with Gohoku and Hongawa villages in 2004.

The town maintains deep connections to traditional Japanese papermaking, with local artisans producing hundreds of varieties of Tosa washi paper at specialized workshops.

The Ino-cho Paper Museum offers demonstrations, workshops, and exhibitions where visitors can learn about papermaking techniques and purchase authentic Tosa washi products.

Local craftsmen create tengujo-shi, the thinnest handmade paper in the world at 0.03 millimeters, which serves essential roles in art restoration and traditional printing.
