Biratori, Town in Saru District, Hokkaido, Japan

Located at the western edge of Hidaka district, Biratori extends over 743 square kilometers with the Saru River flowing from north to south.

The British anthropologist Neil Gordon Munro conducted research on Ainu culture while living in Biratori and providing medical services to local residents.

The Nibutani Ainu Culture Museum, established in 1992, presents traditional artifacts, everyday items, and audio-visual materials documenting indigenous heritage.

Biratori maintains agricultural production of tomatoes, various fruits, vegetables, and raises Wagyu cattle in pastures near the lily of the valley fields.

The Suzuran Field in Memu contains Japan's largest lily of the valley colony, covering 15 hectares within white birch forest surroundings.
