Markovi Kuli, Medieval fortress ruins on Vodno Mountain, North Macedonia.
The archaeological remains of Markovi Kuli consist of stone walls, towers, and foundations spread across the eastern slope of Mount Vodno near Skopje.
Archaeological excavations reveal continuous settlement patterns from the 4th to 6th centuries, followed by renewed occupation during the 10th to 14th centuries.
The fortress ruins display architectural elements from multiple periods, including water storage systems, defensive structures, and residential quarters typical of medieval settlements.
The site stands 6 kilometers from central Skopje, with parking available near the entrance to a picnic area along the Sopishte road.
Holes in the fortress walls indicate the previous existence of wooden floor support beams, providing insights into medieval construction techniques.
