Trinity Cathedral, Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Anadyr, Russia.
The Trinity Cathedral stands near the Anadyr Estuary, constructed with multiple types of wood including pine walls, larch floors, and spruce inner linings.
The cathedral, completed in 2015, replaced the Transfiguration Church from 1862, which had served various functions during the Soviet period including a warehouse and store.
The interior features a five-tier iconostasis with 51 handmade icons created in the artistic tradition of 15th-century Russian painter Andrei Rublev.
The structure incorporates double-layered walls with basalt insulation and thermal columns in its foundation to withstand the extreme Arctic temperatures and high winds.
This wooden religious structure reaches 25 meters in height and spans 600 square meters, making it the largest wooden Orthodox temple currently in operation globally.
