Khartoum, State capital in Sudan

Khartoum stands at the meeting point of the White Nile and Blue Nile rivers, creating a natural formation known as Al-Mogran.

Founded in 1821 as an Egyptian army outpost, Khartoum developed into a major trading center between Ethiopia and Egypt through the nineteenth century.

The National Museum of Sudan in Khartoum displays two Egyptian temples that were relocated from Lake Nasser, along with extensive archaeological collections.

The metropolitan area includes three distinct sections: Khartoum proper, Khartoum North, and Omdurman, connected by bridges across the Nile rivers.

The temperature in Khartoum regularly reaches 40 degrees Celsius, with minimal rainfall occurring only between July and September each year.
