The Border City Mill No. 2 spans five stories with Italianate architecture, featuring narrow windows, a central tower, and six wrought iron fire escapes.
Built in 1873 under the leadership of S. Angier Chace and George T. Hathaway, the mill produced cotton textiles until 1940 through various economic changes.
The mill represents Fall River's industrial heritage as part of the Massachusetts textile manufacturing landscape during the nineteenth century industrial revolution.
Located at One Weaver Street along the Taunton River, the former manufacturing facility has been transformed into residential units since the 1980s.
The structure stands as the largest remaining component of the Border City Mill complex and retains its original brick construction due to limited access to granite quarries.
