Arcus Argentariorum, Triumphal arch in Italy
The Arcus Argentariorum is an ancient Roman arch located in Rome.
Constructed in the honor of Emperor Septimius Severus and his family around 204 AD.
It represents the opulence and power of the money-changers in ancient Roman society.
Today, it stands partly embedded in a church wall, the Church of San Giorgio al Velabro.
The reliefs on the arch include rare depictions of the imperial family's domestic religious practices.
