Задорожное озеро, Freshwater lake near Lviv, Ukraine
Lake Zadorozhne is a large body of water with clear turquoise water that reaches depths of about 27 meters in some places and covers roughly 0.6 square kilometers in total. The gentle shoreline and open water provide ample space for swimming, boating, and relaxing.
The water body originated from a quarry that began operations in 1940 and expanded significantly after 1950. Decades of excavation and transformation of the land gradually created this lake from what was once an industrial site.
The lake draws visitors from Lviv and nearby areas who spend leisure time here and enjoy the natural surroundings together.
Reach the lake by train from Lviv to Zadorozhna station, which is just a short walk from the shore, or by personal vehicle. The area has adequate parking and is easy to explore on foot.
Below the water surface, divers can explore remnants of old buildings and landscapes from the industrial past. These submerged structures attract adventurous visitors looking for something different.
