Pummerin, Bell in Austria
The Pummerin is a bell in the Stephansdom cathedral in Vienna, Austria.
Originally cast in 1711 from cannons captured from the Ottoman Empire, it was recast in 1951 after being damaged in World War II.
It is the third largest free-swinging chimed church bell in Europe and plays an important role in Austrian cultural traditions.
The Pummerin can be visited as part of a tour of the North Tower of the Stephansdom cathedral.
The Pummerin is also known as 'Booby Mary' due to a casting flaw that resembles a woman's breast.
