Château de Castagnac, Medieval castle in Castagnac, France

The castle follows a rectangular layout with four round towers at each corner, displaying the architectural design of a 14th-century fortress.

The first mention of nobility at this location dates to 1162, when historical records document the presence of Bernadus de Castagnac.

The east facade exhibits a coat of arms featuring a red cross on gold background, representing the Lordats family from the County of Foix.

Located at 355 Route du Château, the castle opens for exterior visits from July 25 to August 15, 2024, with prior reservation required.

The property maintains its original water-filled moat, earning recognition as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture in 2003.
