Église Saint-Étienne de Trèbes

The Saint-Étienne church features a wide single nave with seven bays covered by exposed timber framing on diaphragm arches with painted corbels.

First mentioned in documents from 1215, the church received official parish status through a papal bull issued in 1253 under episcopal authority.

The church structure incorporates five large windows with two lancets topped by trefoils, along with a six-lobed oculus in the diaphragm wall.

The collapse of false vaults in 1980 led to the discovery and restoration of 350 painted corbels from the original timber structure.
