New Cathedral, Linz, Gothic Revival cathedral in Linz, Austria
The New Cathedral reaches a height of 134.7 meters and extends 130 meters in length with a ground area of 5,170 square meters.
The construction started in 1862 under Bishop Franz-Josef Rudigier, with architect Vincenz Statz designing the structure following French Gothic principles.
The Linz Window inside the cathedral presents detailed stained glass illustrations depicting the historical development of the city through different periods.
The cathedral welcomes visitors from Monday through Friday between 8:00 and 19:00, and during weekends from 13:00 until 17:30.
Seven bells cast by Anton Gugg in 1901 occupy the tower, with the largest bell Immaculata weighing 8 tons and marking each hour.
