The cathedral features a 65-meter church tower with an open-work spire, constructed from reddish and yellow sandstone blocks between 1501 and 1519.
The site held an early Christian basilica from the 5th century, followed by a medieval church in the 8th century before the current Gothic structure.
The cathedral houses medieval frescoes in the southern nave, including the St. Wenceslas painting that demonstrates early Giotto-style influences from 1320-1325.
The cathedral remains open daily from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with free admission and guided tower tours available on selected days throughout the year.
The Wine Portal on the northern side of the church displays intricate stone carvings and statues, marking a historical spot where wine merchants conducted sales.
