Church of Midwolde, Religious monument in Leek, Netherlands
The church features a marble tomb designed by Rombout Verhulst, an oak portal, and a carved pulpit created in 1711 by architect Allert Meijer.
The church dates back to the 12th century and received significant interior elements from the Van Panhuys family following their tragic drowning in 1907.
The church maintains a Levinus Eekmans organ from 1630, which underwent modifications in 1787, 1911, and received extensive maintenance in 2013.
Visitors can explore the church from April through October on Saturdays and Sundays between 1 PM and 5 PM, with appointments required for other times.
The structure contains a burial cellar beneath the marble tomb, which remains closed to public access while housing historical remains.
