Bardsey Island, Protected island near Aberdaron, Wales

The island spans 179 hectares with steep cliffs, flat farmland, and Mynydd Enlli peak reaching 548 feet above sea level.

Saint Cadfan established a monastery on the island during the 6th century, leading to its recognition as the Island of 20,000 Saints.

The tradition of appointing a King of Bardsey continued from 1826, with representatives of Baron Newborough conducting the coronation ceremonies.

Visitors can reach the island through passenger ferry services from Porth Meudwy, with trips dependent on weather conditions.
