Cliveden, Historic estate in Buckinghamshire, England

Cliveden is a grand Italianate mansion set on a plateau overlooking the River Thames.

Built by George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham in 1666, Cliveden has been home to an earl, three countesses, two dukes, and a Prince of Wales.

The house is known for its lavish parties and political intrigue, and was the setting for the infamous Profumo Affair.

Today, it operates as a five-star hotel under the National Trust and is open to the public.

It features a maze made from 1,100 yew trees.
