St. James Church, Gothic parish church in Louth, England
The church features a 287-foot spire, making it the third tallest spire structure among religious buildings in the United Kingdom.
Construction of the church began in 1430, with its tower completed by 1499 and the prominent spire reaching completion in 1515.
The church maintains its role as a central religious institution through regular Sunday services, including Holy Communion at 10 am and Evensong at 6 pm.
Visitors can access guided tours on weekdays until 4 pm and utilize facilities such as the tea shop and bookstore at the western end.
The medieval treadwheel used during the original construction of the spire remains visible through a viewing door below the spire floor.
