Statue of Edward Jenner, Bronze memorial in Kensington Gardens, London, England.

The bronze statue depicts Edward Jenner in a seated position holding papers on a Portland stone plinth with his surname inscribed on Aberdeen granite.

The statue was first placed in Trafalgar Square in 1858 before moving to Kensington Gardens in 1862 following debates about its location.

The monument recognizes Edward Jenner's development of the smallpox vaccine, which led to fundamental changes in global disease prevention methods.

The Grade II listed statue stands at coordinates 51.5106° N latitude and -0.1751° W longitude in the Italian Garden section of Kensington Gardens.

International donations funded the statue's construction, but British public contributions remained low, leaving sculptor William Calder Marshall with financial losses.
