St. Paul's Church, Edenton

St. Paul's Church features a five-bay brick structure with a gable roof and square tower, following Georgian architectural principles established in colonial America.

The provincial general assembly established the church on November 12, 1701, and the building opened its doors on April 10, 1760, after 24 years of construction.

The churchyard contains the graves of three North Carolina governors: Charles Eden, Thomas Pollock, and Gabriel Johnston, representing early American leadership.

The church maintains regular Episcopal services with both Rite I and Rite II liturgies, alongside Christian education programs and community breakfast gatherings.

Following a severe fire in 1949, the church interior underwent extensive restoration work to recreate its nineteenth-century appearance while preserving historical elements.
