Stadtbad St. Johann, Municipal bath building in St. Johann district, Saarbrücken, Germany.
The building features a four-wing layout with a courtyard, concrete construction, clinker cladding, and a tower with an arcaded ground floor at its southern corner.
Built between 1905 and 1906, the Kaiser-Friedrich-Bad provided affordable leisure facilities, reaching 520,000 annual visitors by 1938 before wartime damage in 1945.
Fritz Zolnhofer created detailed fish-themed mosaics in collaboration with Villeroy & Boch, decorating the smaller swimming hall with ornamental pillars and designs.
The facility underwent transformation in 2013, converting the bath area into 110 apartments within an intergenerational house complex, completed in late 2017.
In 2002, the empty swimming pool served as a performance venue for Francesco Cavalli's Baroque opera 'Scipione affricano' before the building's residential conversion.
