Tomb of the Eagles, Neolithic chambered tomb in South Ronaldsay, Scotland.

The Isbister Chambered Cairn stands on limestone cliffs, featuring a central chamber connected to three side chambers through a narrow passage.

Local farmer Ronald Simison discovered the archaeological site in 1958 while searching for flagstones, leading to extensive excavations starting in 1976.

The tomb contained 16,000 human bones from 324 individuals, along with remains of white-tailed sea eagles, indicating specific burial practices of Neolithic communities.

The artifacts from the tomb are now displayed at the Orkney Museum in Kirkwall, following the permanent closure of the original site in 2020.

Examination of recovered skulls revealed that twenty percent of the buried individuals had experienced violent injuries from wooden clubs and stone axes.
