St Alfege Church, Greenwich, Grade I listed Anglican church in Greenwich, England
The church features a rectangular layout with a flat ceiling, Tuscan portico, central arch, and a medieval tower refaced in 1730.
After Vikings killed Archbishop Alfege at this location in 1012, the original medieval church served as the baptism site for Henry VIII in 1491.
The church maintains regular recitals and musical performances, continuing a tradition connected to Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis who rests within its grounds.
Visitors can attend Sunday services at 8 am and 10 am, while general access for exploration occurs Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm.
During World War II, the crypt provided shelter from air raids until March 1941, when incendiary bombs destroyed the roof and interior sections.
