High Commission of New Zealand, London
High Commission of New Zealand, London, Diplomatic mission near Pall Mall, London, United Kingdom
New Zealand House rises 18 stories from a four-story podium at the intersection of Haymarket and Pall Mall in central London.
The New Zealand Government acquired this site in 1948, replacing the Carlton Hotel that German bombs destroyed during World War II.
The reception area features Te Pouihi, a wooden pillar carved by Maori artist Inia Te Wiata that extends through multiple floors of the building.
The High Commission processes passport applications and provides diplomatic services for New Zealand citizens from Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM.
The building required direct approval from the British Cabinet for construction due to its height, marking a departure from traditional London architectural restrictions.
