Old St Peter and St Paul's Church, Albury, Grade I listed medieval church in Albury, England
The church presents a distinct architectural combination of ironstone and sandstone rubble walls with a timber-framed north porch and wooden shingle cupola.
Built around 1150, the church includes pre-Conquest masonry in its tower and underwent modifications during the 13th century with additions of the chancel and south transept.
The interior features a three-bay arcade, a quatrefoil pattern ceiling, and numerous monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries documenting local heritage.
Located within Albury Park between Albury and Shere villages, the church remains open daily and offers temporary parking for visitors on the grounds.
The mathematician William Oughtred, who invented the multiplication sign, served as rector here for fifty years and lies buried within the church.
