Shukhov Tower, Television tower in Donskoy District, Moscow, Russia
The 160-meter steel structure consists of six stacked hyperboloid sections constructed from straight metal segments forming a latticed frame pattern.
Vladimir Shukhov designed and built this broadcasting tower between 1920 and 1922 under Lenin's decree during the Russian Civil War period.
The tower represents an early example of Soviet constructivist architecture, combining engineering innovation with the social changes of post-revolutionary Russia.
The structure stands near Shabolovskaya metro station, though public access remains restricted due to ongoing preservation concerns and safety measures.
Each section of the tower was assembled on the ground and lifted into position without scaffolding, using an internal system of pulleys.
