The letters forming the word NEWBORN stand 3 meters tall and 24 meters long, painted in different colors each year to mark Kosovo's independence.
The monument was unveiled on February 17, 2008, the same day Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia, with 150,000 citizens attending the ceremony.
Each annual repainting of the monument represents different themes, including the flags of nations that recognized Kosovo's sovereignty and women's empowerment messages.
The monument remains accessible throughout the day and is located near other central attractions, making it a frequent stop on walking tours of Prishtina.
Designer Fisnik Ismaili and his team completed the entire construction of this 9-ton steel structure within ten days to meet the independence declaration deadline.
