Masarykovo nábřeží, Riverfront and street in New Town, Prague, Czech Republic
The Masaryk Quay extends along the right bank of the Vltava River, connecting Jirásek Bridge to Legion Bridge in central Prague.
Formerly known as František Quay, this riverfront area received its current name in 1990 to honor Tomáš Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia.
The architectural ensemble features numerous buildings in neo-Renaissance and neo-Baroque styles, including the National Theatre and the Fine Arts Association Manes.
The quay maintains regular tram service and road traffic, while presenting multiple access points to Slovanský Island through pedestrian bridges.
Several water mills operated along this riverbank until the 19th century, before the construction of the current stone embankment in 1903.
