The Georgia Guidestones is a granite monument erected in 1980 in Elbert County, Georgia, in the United States.
A set of 10 guidelines is inscribed on the structure in eight modern languages, and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient languages' scripts: Babylonian, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, and Egyptian hieroglyphs.
It has been referred to as an 'American Stonehenge'.
The anonymous sponsors of the project are allegedly part of a small, private group of loyal Americans who believe in God, country, and the right to knowledge.
Every day at noon, the sun shines through a narrow hole in the structure and illuminates the day's date on an engraving.
