Hittisau Women's Museum

The Hittisau Women's Museum occupies the upper floor of a wood and glass structure and displays exhibitions about women's roles in art, history, and social topics. The space hosts various events including films, discussions, and temporary shows on different themes.

The institution was established in 2000 with a focus on documenting women's perspectives and roles across different fields. Over time it has grown to present exhibitions exploring various themes and historical periods.

The building shares space with a fire brigade station in the basement level, creating an unusual mix of public services and cultural use. This combination of practical infrastructure and exhibition space won multiple awards for its thoughtful design using silver fir wood.
