The white cylindrical tower with a black band rises 33 meters from limestone cliffs along the Strait of Belle Isle coast.
Built between 1854 and 1858, Point Amour Lighthouse guided ships through dangerous waters filled with icebergs in the Strait of Belle Isle.
The lighthouse residential section now functions as a museum, displaying navigation artifacts and maritime safety equipment from different periods.
Visitors can climb 132 steps to reach the top, with admission fees of 6 dollars for adults and 4 dollars for seniors and students.
The second-order Fresnel lens projects light signals visible up to 18 nautical miles, with 16-second illumination periods followed by 4-second pauses.
