Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a unique national forest park located in Zhangjiajie City in northern Hunan Province.

Established in 1982, it was recognized as China's first national forest park with an area of 4,810 ha.

The park, part of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is known for its exquisite forests, odd-shaped peaks and rocks, the beautiful canyons, the limestone caves, and the clear streams.

The park became internationally known for inspiring the floating mountains in the blockbuster movie 'Avatar'.
