Sender Petersberg, Communication tower in Petersberg, Germany
The Sender Petersberg rises 119 meters into the sky, constructed with reinforced concrete and positioned at an elevation of 250 meters above sea level.
Built between 1963 and 1965 by Deutsche Post, the tower served as a relay station for microwave connections between Berlin and the inner German border at Brocken.
The tower broadcasts multiple radio programs for the Halle metropolitan area, including MDR Sachsen-Anhalt, MDR Sputnik, and Radio SAW through both FM and digital signals.
Media Broadcast operates the transmission facilities, maintaining radio broadcasting services and telecommunication infrastructure for the surrounding region of Saxony-Anhalt.
The tower stands next to a seven-story telecommunications building from the 1950s that formerly housed the district radio control center of Halle.
