Kloster Triefenstein, Augustinian monastery in Triefenstein, Germany
The monastery complex stands on the banks of the Main River, featuring multiple buildings including a tower, gatehouse, and greenhouse with surrounding gardens.
Established in 1102, the monastery received vineyard lands on Kallmuth hill from Kloster Neustadt, and a new Romanesque church was built in 1164.
The monastery preserves the traditions of Augustinian choristers through its architectural elements and maintains records of religious practices from past centuries.
Located at coordinates 49.807703, 9.598403, the monastery complex offers guided tours and educational programs about its architectural and religious heritage.
During the Thirty Years War, monks left the monastery empty before Swedish troops arrived, with administrative restoration occurring in 1634.
