Weissenohe Abbey, Benedictine monastery and brewery in Weißenohe, Germany
The Weissenohe Abbey consists of multiple stone buildings, including a church with Baroque architectural elements and a functioning brewery within its premises.
Founded in 1145 by Gebizo of Ravensburg and his sister Luitgarde, the abbey underwent significant changes during the 1803 secularization of Bavaria.
The monastery received the Blood of Christ relic from Rudolph of Habsburg in 1283, establishing an annual procession that continued until the late 1700s.
The brewery section of the abbey produces traditional German beers and maintains a beer garden where visitors can sample local specialties.
The complex represents a rare combination of active religious institution and commercial brewery, continuing centuries-old brewing traditions in modern times.
