Père Lachaise Cemetery, Cemetery in Paris, France

Père Lachaise Cemetery is the largest cemetery in the city of Paris.

Opened in 1804, it was named after Père François de la Chaise, the confessor to Louis XIV.

It is the final resting place of many famous individuals including Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, and Jim Morrison.

The cemetery is still in operation and accepts new burials.

It is reputed to be the world's most visited cemetery, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
