The Bayeux Tapestry is a 70 meters long embroidered cloth which depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England.
Created in the 11th century, it is an important artifact that illustrates the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
It's not actually a tapestry, but an embroidery, reflecting the rich textile tradition of the time.
The tapestry is exhibited at the Musée de la Tapisserie de Bayeux in Bayeux, Normandy.
Despite its French origin, the tapestry is written in Latin.
