Longues-sur-Mer Battery, German artillery battery on coastal cliffs in Normandy, France

The military installation contains four concrete casemates with naval guns positioned on a 60-meter cliff overlooking the Baie de Seine.

German forces constructed the battery between September 1943 and April 1944 as part of the Atlantic Wall defensive system against Allied invasion forces.

The battery represents a preserved example of World War II military engineering, featuring original German naval guns and concrete fortification techniques.

Visitors can explore the casemates, ammunition bunkers, and firing command post while following educational panels that explain the battery's role during D-Day.

The Longues-sur-Mer Battery maintains four original 150mm naval guns in their concrete casemates, making it the only such complete installation in Normandy.
