Batterie de Bouviers, Historic fortress in France
The Batterie de Bouviers is a mid-19th century fortification located near the town of Guyancourt, France.
Constructed from 1876 to 1881, the fortress was part of the defensive ring around Paris during the late 19th century.
Though never engaged in battle, the fort represents the military architectural advancements of its time.
Currently, it is not open to the public due to its state of preservation and safety considerations.
The fortress features intricate underground passages and living quarters designed for about 200 soldiers.
