Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Étival

The architectural complex contains a church, an 18th-century abbot's residence, a cloister gallery, and preserved surrounding walls within the Vosges region.

The monastery, established in the 7th century, became a Premonstratensian abbey in 1145 under the supervision of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption de Flabémont.

Architect Nicolas Pierson designed the northern living quarters and integrated two towers framing the church's classical facade during the 18th century.

Located at 2 Rue de l'Abbaye in Étival-Clairefontaine, the abbey contains four protected elements with varying accessibility schedules throughout the year.

The north tower, destroyed in 1944 during wartime, was replaced by a new south tower maintaining the original architectural proportions.
