The Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine exhibits International Gothic design with large windows, stone carvings, and a prominent entrance portal on Grande Rue.
Built in the 15th century for René II, Duke of Lorraine, the palace underwent modifications in the 18th century when Leopold ordered partial demolitions for expansion projects.
The palace houses the Musée Lorrain, containing extensive collections of Gallo-Roman artifacts, medieval stained glass, and Renaissance art by Ligier Richier and Georges de La Tour.
Guided tours through the palace present detailed information about the architectural elements, ducal history, and museum collections spanning multiple centuries of regional heritage.
The ground floor features an open-vaulted gallery offering views of adjacent gardens, while the first level contains the Galerie des Cerfs reception rooms.
