Abbatiale Saint-Pierre de Lesterps

The Saint-Pierre Abbey features a three-bay bell tower rising 43 meters high with semicircular arches supported by cruciform pillars throughout the structure.

The abbey, established in the late 10th century by Jourdain I of Chabanais, introduced the Rule of Saint Augustine when Gautier became its first abbot in 1038.

The Romanesque church preserves 12th-century carved capitals and bas-reliefs, demonstrating the architectural techniques and religious artistry of medieval France.

The remaining structures include three western bays, a bell tower-porch, and a garden showcasing the last two abbey buildings near the town hall.

The bell tower incorporates Carolingian architectural elements, making it similar to only two other towers found in Évaux-les-Bains and Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat.
