Castle of Villeneuve-l'Étang, Heritage château in Marnes-la-Coquette, France

The Castle of Villeneuve-l'Étang stands on Boulevard Raymond Poincaré, featuring architectural elements from different periods of French history.

Jules Hardouin-Mansart reconstructed the castle in 1698 for Louis François Marie Le Tellier de Barbezieux, Secretary of State for War under Louis XIV.

The estate transformed from a noble residence to a scientific facility when Louis Pasteur conducted research in buildings constructed during Napoleon III's era.

The castle grounds, now public property, maintain structures from the Second Empire period and connect to neighboring historical landmarks.

Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie spent their honeymoon at the castle in 1853, following extensive renovations to the property.
