Built around 1000 AD as a Lombard fortification, the castle belonged to the Morra family for 140 years until its transfer to the Rinaldi family in 1921.
This castle gained recognition as the residence of Renaissance poet Isabella Morra, whose literary works emerged from her confined life within these walls.
The castle maintains regular visiting hours, with guided tours available that include access to the main halls, towers, and the surrounding gardens.
The castle grounds contain a literary park dedicated to Isabella Morra, where theatrical performances recreate scenes from her life and poetry.
