The museum, which opened its doors on March 19, 2005, displays sacred artworks collected from the Cathedral of San Cerbone and other religious buildings in the region.

The museum collection includes paintings, sculptures, and religious artifacts that represent the artistic heritage of Tuscan ecclesiastical communities through the centuries.
