Kiyosu

Kiyosu is a city in Aichi Prefecture situated on the Nōbi Plain along the Shōnai River, near Nagoya. The reconstructed castle tower stands at the city center with gardens and surrounding parks that preserve the historical layout of the area.

Kiyosu Castle was built between 1394 and 1427 as a strategic checkpoint for major trade routes connecting different regions. The city later became significant under samurai leaders who used it as a base for regional expansion.

Kiyosu Castle serves as the cultural heart where visitors see traditional performances and local events throughout the year. The site connects residents and travelers to the region's samurai heritage through active celebration rather than passive viewing.

Bronze statues of Oda Nobunaga and Princess No stand in the castle grounds, each representing important figures in the region's past. These monuments mark the site where influential leaders once made decisions that shaped much of Japan.
