St Steven's Church, Gothic church building in historical center, Nijmegen, Netherlands.
The stone structure rises from Hundisburg hill with its elevated tower, stained glass windows, and detailed architectural elements throughout the exterior walls.
The church, consecrated in 1273 by Albertus Magnus, sustained severe damage during the 1944 bombing of Nijmegen and underwent reconstruction until 1969.
The König organ fills the interior space with music during weekly concerts, while the tomb of Catherine of Bourbon stands as a memorial since 1512.
The church opens Saturday from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with guided tours available for large groups.
Two modern stained glass windows, named Pelican and Stigmata, were created by artist Marc Mulders and installed in the church during 2001.
